PILATES / PIANO / PILATES / PIANO/ PILATES / PIANO

Recently, I’ve been often outside of LA in a place where I can do my Pilates workouts but have everything except a Reformer. So lately I’ve been using mostly the Cadillac, the Wunda chair and the Mat for my workouts. I also happen to have a piano there, which I don’t have in Los Angeles, so I try to take advantage and use it while I can. Everyday I do an hour or more of Pilates and then practice the piano.

I’ve noticed something different now when I play after working on the Wunda Chair. I’ve always looked at the notes then moved my fingers to the proper key bypassing the rest of my body kind of like typing. After a Wunda Chair workout I feel like my body is seeing the notes and moving easier to the keys instead of having dead space between my eyes and my fingers. It feels like my body is playing not just my hands. All the little detailed Wunda Chair exercises have helped me connect to the piano in a way I never had before. I ‘m not sure I play better but I make less mistakes and I am better able to listen to my own playing.

We often use exercises to teach other exercises in Pilates so how about the Wunda Chair to learn the piano.
